In July of 2001 at the time of the ISKCON child abuse litigation, ISKCON Gurus , Jayadvaita Swami and Jayapataka Swami et al have launched a series of seminars called ’Food for Death’ attacking social welfare programs such as Akshaya Patra who are feeding underprivileged school children in India. They interpolated yet again, the instructions of Srila Prabhupada regarding generous ‘Mass Prasadam (blessed food) Distribution’. They misconstrued Srila Prabhupada’s instructions many times in the past, the clear specific instructions such as: Gurus can not be ‘appointed’ and Children can not ‘beaten’.
The success of Akshaya Patra has been developed and organized by dedicated devotees of Srila Prabhupada at ISKCON Bangalore Temple. This group of dedicated devotees consists of professionals and graduates from a number of respectable and prestigious universities through out India. They are native Indians. The culture and social customs are genuine and authentic. They sincerely want to help their country, and especially those who are in need. Due to these dedicated souls vision, they went from initially feeding 1500 children daily in 2000, to currently feeding 1 million children daily. Akshaya Patra is serving nutritious blessed vegetarian mid-day meals. While the food is being prepared in the most efficient hygienic cost and time saving manner, devotees within their hearts offer all the food to the Lord (called Krishna’s prasadam or Blessed food) and then this prasadam is served to all the children regardless of children's cast, creed, color or religion. The tradition of distributing prasadam from all the temples through out India to millions of people and pilgrims, men, women and children is an inseparable and integral part of an oldest and a glorious culture that lived and is still living. It is a timeless expression of genuine compassion and spiritual wisdom. The mission of Akshaya Patra states: to feed a hungry child is not a charity but a social responsibility. Moreover, it is an emergency.
Unfortunately the ISKCON Gurus/GBC want to stop the Akshaya Patra welfare program, calling it a great offense, extended selfishness, and a disgrace.
In October of 2008, ISKCON Bangalore Temple launched “Struggle for the Truth” on their website www.iskconbangalore.org, after a decade of abuse from the ISKCON Gurus and their followers.
Since the year 2000, ISKCON Gurus Jayadvaita Swami (Jay Israel), Jayapataka Swami (Gordon Erdman), Gopal Krishna Goswami (Gopal Khanna) and Radhanatha Swami (Richard Slavin) via their controlled organizations such as ISKCON Mumbai, anonymous IBDA (ISKCON-BDA) and BBTI (Bhaktivednata Book Trust International) have been viciously attacking Bangalore Temple and the Akshaya Patra Foundation in the court system, and through slander campaigns, trying malign the good names of those who have dedicated their lives to helping others. They have gone as far as to say that Bangalore Temple and Akshaya Patra are their property. This issue has been fought in the courts for almost a decade. They caused an endless legal battle.

For about 7 years, between 2000 - 2006, “Food for Death,” a well-packaged religious doctrine, describing Akshaya Patra, was a common phrase amongst ISKCON members and congregation due to the preaching of ISKCON leaders. Between the years of 2006-2008 while Akshaya Patra’s success was obvious and remarkable - bringing back the good name to Srila Prabhupad and ISKCON - ISKCON Gurus and their followers needed to come up with a ‘different preaching strategy’. Despite their previous nefarious attacks, they approached devotees from ISKCON Bangalore (the very same people they were troubling and harassing all these years) to learn from them, and apply the successful Akshaya Patra program in their own locations. They needed a positive PR in the public and media, as well as amongst their congregation, to yet again ‘cover up’ or ‘make up’ for their shocking past failings they preformed for the past 30+ years. Their plan was to show ‘something’ to the world that they are finally starting to do ‘something,’ for the purpose to look ‘somewhat’ credible. From a perspective of members, assets, money and resources ISKCON Gurus and their followers are far more superior then devotees at ISKCON Bangalore. And still ISKCON Bangalore devotees, having compassion on starving children of the world, taught them everything on how to implement Akshaya Patra program. Thanks to these Akshaya Patra devotees, the ISKCON Gurus and their followers are now supposedly serving 600,000(?) meals per day since just one month ago via their hijacked IFR (ISKCON Food Relief) Foundation despite for years doing only damages and viciously preaching “Food for Death” philosophy. ‘No Credit Given’ or a public appreciation to Akshaya Patra from them! Instead they are consistently lying in the court of law that devotees at ISKCON Bangalore stole their properties (the Bangalore Temple and Akshaya Patra).
Lastly it seems at least, the ISKCON Bangalore welfare food program (Akshaya Patra) is no longer “Food for Death” program as it was taught to ISKCON worldwide congregation by an ISKCON spokesman, Guru and a GBC Jayadvaita Swami. It is only a ‘different preaching style’ of sort, for the time being (or how long it takes), to appease the public and to ultimately take control of Akshaya Patra for the only purpose to eventually down the road dismantle it. This is ISKCON Gurus modus operandi. Their history speaks for itself.

While children were starving and molested and while children are still starving in the world, the money that is being spent on him and other ISKCON Gurus for the past 30+ years could fed a Billion children daily. If the court ever decides to hand over Akshaya Patra to them, and before that happens, devotees of ISKCON as God’s representatives on earth within ISKCON’s congregation. Devotees of ISKCON Bangalore with all certainty do not want to see Akshaya Patra in the hands Bangalore have their last Will and a request to the court, to the country, to all the people that they would rather see the Government of India taking charge of Akshaya Patra than putting it into the hands of ISKCON gurus and GBC. What these people, namely ISKCON Gurus/GBC, did in the past is beyond words. Somehow or other they are still in leadership positions and are being worshiped as good as God, or are considered of people with such history no matter how bright and transformed they seem to behave presently. |
